Clogged Drainage will make you irritated
This has happened to all of us – the water fast submerging our feet while are taking a shower. Is there anything as inconvenient and messy as a clogged drainpipe!. Or you’re in front of the toilet sink, brushing your teeth and before you know it – the sink is halfway full. The prospect of sorting choked drainage out is not a happy one; it can be messy and time consuming. However it is something that every household has to deal with, sooner or later. But there are ways to unblock bathroom drains easily and can make this unenviable job a lot easier.
Why do drainage get choked, what is the underlying cause?.
Clogging occurs when substances like hair, dust and other bits and pieces get trapped in the region where the bathroom drainpipe is connected to the main drainpipe pipe. Everyday products like soaps, shampoos, detergents and so on add to the problem by building up around the solid material. When the offending mass becomes too dense to allow any water to flow through freely, the problem is identified as a clogged up drain. If you notice water getting accumulated in your tub or sink, you definitely have stopped drains.
How to unclog Your drains.
Time to roll up your sleeves and tackle the blockage – here are a few tips on what you can do to unclog your bathtub or sink drain. First of all the stopper should be removed. In case of a bathroom sink, the plug can be removed easily with a simple pull or it might need the complex effort of unlocking the hook keeping it in place from under the sink. With respect to the bathtub, the screws have to be loosened to remove the stopper or the overflow plate has to be dismantled.
Once you remove the stopper, you may then be able to see the source of the blockage. Chances are you’ll see a clump of hair mixed with other materials just below the drainpipe. Reach down into the pipe and pull out as much as possible. If the mass is located in a region, where it is difficult for you to grasp it and pull it out, then use a wire clothes hanger to dig into the clump and pull it back through the drain pipe pipe. There is a good chance that by removing this mass of material the problem will be rectified and your water will flow smoothly.
In a case of deeper clogging, your hand or hooked wire may not do the trick – you may have to try the next step. The most practical way to clean such deep-seated clogs is a drain plunger. To begin with, you should plug the overflow drainpipe to make sure that the plunger has optimum suction. Then, put the plunger over the drain and push up and down half a dozen times. When you finally release the plunger, any trapped water should immediately be drained.
If the plunger also fails to clean your bathroom drain pipe, then you should take the help of chemical drain cleaner. It should be noted that chemical drain pipe cleaners should only be used as a final solution as the chemical substances are harmful and could damage your bathroom fixtures and sanitary fittings.
Call a professional plumber if all else fails.
If the above methods fail to solve your clogged drain pipe problem then you may have to contact a plumber. Alternatively experienced drains contractors like Dynorod have all the necessary equipment required to unblock the drains and inspect the interior with a CCTV inspection or drainage camera. It might cost you some money, but a plumber’s expertise can give quite a relief with this type of messy household problem.
