How to prepare a self cleansing well built sewer system
The system for removing pollution from utilities to a septic tank or sewer uses drainage pipes. They are also used in the sewer system in our homes where they are used in between the inspection chambers. The system is supposed to keep itself clean and prevent the occurrence of any blockage. The use of correct gradients is a must here. Normally UPVC pipework is employed in the sewer system. Once the system has been laid down, testing should be carried out prior to inaugurating the system. This should be done between the inspection chambers.
Trenches should be dug and the drainage pipes should be laid in them. Three hundred to five hundred millimeters is the typical depth adopted. When the sewer system passes under a walkway, car park area or driveway, the pipe must be enveloped in concrete to protect it. Excavation of the channel to the desired level must be done at the time of work commencement. These must be inclined towards the sewers or effluent storage tanks. A one to four ratio is appropriate for the incline. The bottom of the trenches should be rammed and compacted properly. Pegs can be used to set accurate levels in the trench bottoms.
The pipeline has to be aligned straight. This should be joined with sockets leading uphill or towards the building. Flat and well-compacted ground is best to lay the system upon. Male and female sockets should be connected using good quality adhesive. Check the words of the supplier of the gluing material. The drainpipe should go completely into the wall’s thickness as they are being joined to the inspection chambers. Avoid debris inside the pipes as it will impede water flow.
Thorough inspections are carried out on the drainage pipe before it is laid in the channel. This is done to avoid using punctured pipes which will leak over time. The foundation must have socket recesses for it is incomplete without them. Keep them short where possible. The inlet and outlet points must be evened out and marked appropriately. Once all the joints are finished, the whole system is then covered over with earth. Connection is then made between the system and the septic tank or sewer. The drainage system is now ready once you connect to the utilities.
